President Donald Trump will attend a criminal justice reform forum at the historically black Benedict College in Columbia on Friday, Oct. 25.
The event is the 2019 Second Step Presidential Justice Forum. Hosted by the 20/20 Bipartisan Criminal Justice Center, the event is set to host numerous presidential candidates in South Carolina’s capital.
A number of Democratic Presidential Candidates, including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, will also be in attendance at the event on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Every presidential candidate was invited to attend the forum, which is focused on the “second step” of justice reform after the passing of the 2018 First Step Act.
The event’s description details that all candidates who attend will be asked to speak about their plans for criminal justice reform by presenting “specific and articulable policy proposals with measurable results to be achieved by 2024.”
The event is scheduled to run from Friday, Oct. 25 to Sunday, Oct. 27.
